Details:
Celebrate a century of rhythm and community as we honor Suffern Free Library’s Centennial with a spectacular journey through time! This costumed program features the talented Debra Weiss, who will lead a fascinating lecture and live demonstration of 100 years of American movement. We’ll kick things off in 1926—the year our library was born—when the Charleston ruled the dance floor and Broadway was buzzing with the soulful magic of a brand-new style of tap. From the iconic flair of Singing in the Rain to the groovy 1960s, where we’ll freestyle to Motown hits like Dancing in the Street, this lecture/performance captures the vibrant heart of our history.
Along with her demonstrations, Debra Weiss will guide the audience through interactive participation designed to get everyone involved in the fun. Proudly supported in part by the County of Rockland.
