Placer Breast Cancer Foundation

The Placer Breast Cancer Foundation is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to fighting breast cancer through research, education, and outreach programs within the Placer and Sacramento County areas. Originally established as the Placer Breast Cancer Endowment in 2005 with the goal of raising $1.5 million for a Breast Cancer Chair at UC Davis, the foundation has since expanded its mission. They fund research, including studies on Triple Negative breast cancer and BRCA2 protein, and support initiatives like the Mammo+ Bus for underserved communities. The foundation also prioritizes education and support through programs like the Placer Women's Retreat and Students for A Cure, and collaborates with other local nonprofits to assist patients, survivors, and caregivers. All funds raised stay within the local community.
