Join Metro in partnership with Rose City Self-Defense for a summer self-defense class. Participants will learn:intuition and instinctassertive communicationboundary-setting toolsphysical self-defense escapesphysical self-defense strikeswhat to do after an unsafe situationThe class will end with a mindfulness and tea session, plus an optional guided walk on the nature trail with a Metro naturalist. Activities can be tailored to meet participants' physical needs. Park at the nature trail parking lot at Northeast 148th Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street at look for a Metro canopy tent. Cost: free Ages: 16 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Difficulty: easyAdvanced registration is required. Space is limited. Pets policyTo protect plants, wildlife and people, Metro does not allow pets at most regional parks and natural areas.
