Details:
Join us for two enriching outdoor experiences designed to connect with nature: a **Forest Bathing Walk** at Smith and Bybee Wetlands and an **Introductory Fly Fishing Workshop**.
Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the forest with certified guide Bea Ogden as you participate in sensory activities and mindful walking techniques. This easy-paced walk is suitable for ages 10 and older (minors must be accompanied by an adult). Advanced registration is required; spaces are limited to 15 participants, and the event is free. Please note that pets are not allowed, but service animals are welcome.
For those interested in fishing, the fly fishing workshop led by fisheries biologist Anna Le will cover the fundamentals, including fly casting, knot tying, and understanding trout behavior. This easy workshop is designed for ages 7 and older (minors must be accompanied by an adult). Although the event is currently full, you can join the waitlist. Materials will be provided, and while no in-water activities will occur, the session focuses on fostering conservation and connection to aquatic ecosystems. The workshop is free, with a parking fee of $5 per car or $7 for vans/buses. As with the forest walk, pets are not allowed, and service animals are welcome.
Both events highlight the importance of engaging with our natural surroundings while ensuring a respectful and accessible environment for all participants.
