Delve into the heart of jazz and blues improvisation in this workshop for musicians of all levels!
Through guided exercises, listening, and performance, participants will learn how to build solos, develop phrasing, and interact with a rhythm section in real time. We’ll explore the language of the blues, call-and-response traditions, and the melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic tools that give jazz its expressive freedom, all in a supportive, safe space.
This class meets on Wednesdays, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/27, 6/3, and 6/10 from 7-8PM.
This class is suitable for ages 14+ and all skill levels.
Anyone with an EBT, WIC, or Connector Care card is eligible for reduced price tickets, distributed on a first come first serve basis. Card to Culture tickets cannot be purchased online. Please call our Box Office at 508.994.2900 to inquire.
