June 26th and June 30th, 2026 - Science and Art Meets with Frescos
Join us with a special class guest, Liz Stevens as she teaches us how science and art work together to make masterpieces! One of the most dangerous jobs in the Renaissance was being an artist's apprentice. The quest for making the most beautiful paint colors was hard work. Come explore the science behind paint mixing and the elements that were used at the time. Try your hand at painting a Fresco and blending your own paint colors. We will learn about the famous artists of the Renaissance and using ancient techniques, and creating a fresco to take home. Let's celebrate the intersection of science and art!
Every month during the year, we have Homeschool Days! Explore the natural world in Iron Hill Museum & Science Center’s homeschool classes for individual families. Students ages 5-18 from the homeschool community can attend sessions designed to complement homeschool science curriculums and make homeschooling more convenient, interactive, and engaging for your family.
Homeschool classes meet on certain week days each month. Please check dates and times on the registration page for each month. Admission is $3 per person. Registration is required for these classes.
Each class runs from 10:30am until 11:30am.
Registration is required. These classes are not just limited to homeschooling families in the summer. Everyone is welcome to join in.
