Barry Levinson once again explores the lives of a group of inner-city boys as they come of age. In the 1960s, a group of friends in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood grow up with two options—become a priest or a gangster. When a prank goes terribly wrong, the boys are shipped off to a reformatory where they are physically and sexually abused. Years later, as grown men, two members of the group encounter one of their abusers and decide to take revenge.
