Auditions for Heathers the Musical

Beavercreek Community Theatre is holding open auditions for its upcoming production of Heathers The Musical, directed by Nick Bellmyer. We are seeking a dynamic, high-energy cast of powerhouse vocalists and strong movers to bring Westerberg High to life August 21 through September 6.
Audition Schedule & Location
Audition Dates: Monday, June 22nd & Tuesday, June 23rd
Time: 7:00 PM (Doors open at 6:30 PM for registration)
Callbacks: Wednesday, June 24th (By invitation only)
Virtual Auditions will be accepted at nickbellmyer86@gmail.com until Tuesday June 23rd at 7pm
Note on Casting: All auditioners must be 18 years of age or older.
All roles are available and open to performers of all ethnicities, body types, and backgrounds. Performers must be comfortable handling mature themes and dark comedic elements. Performers auditioning for the roles of Veronica, JD, Kurt, and Ram must be comfortable with being in various states of undress while on stage.
What to Prepare
Vocal Audition: Please prepare a 32-bar cut (less than 1 minute) of a song in the style of the show that showcases your vocal range and performance talents.
An accompanist and a Bluetooth speaker will be provided. Please bring cleanly marked sheet music in your key or your backing track ready on a mobile device. No acapella auditions will be permitted.
Dance Call: All auditioners must stay for a group dance call. Please dress in comfortable athletic attire or dance wear and bring appropriate footwear (jazz shoes, character shoes, or sneakers).

Leads & Supporting
Veronica Sawyer: Fierce sense of right and wrong, keen sense of ironic humor. Wide dynamic and stylistic range.
Vocal Range: High belting required, up to Ab. Mezzo-Soprano / Belter.
Jason “J.D.” Dean: Darkly charismatic, compelling, and damaged. Savage wit. Wide emotional range.
Vocal Range: Tenor / High Baritone. Strong, confident belt to at least Ab (A preferred).
Heather Chandler: The richest, hottest, cruelest girl in town. Relishes power and wields it mercilessly.
Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano. Strong belt to F or higher preferred.
