The Solano County Library, established in 1914, found its first permanent home in Fairfield in 1931, becoming a historical landmark next to the County Administration Center. Serving six of the seven county cities—Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, and Vallejo—the library has flourished from five branches in 1990 to nine today. With modern facilities emphasizing customer service and diverse collections, it provides a welcoming space for browsing, reading, and community engagement. Last year, it welcomed 1.5 million visitors.
