Backstage Tours meet in the right side breezeway at 7:30 PM Want to learn more about how a massive production like The Lost Colony takes place each night? The Backstage Tour takes you behind the scenes before each show and gives you an in-depth look at the process of bringing a theatrical show to life. You'll get a close look at some of the costumes, props, and, if you're lucky, might meet an actor or two! The tour highlights The Lost Colony's 88-year history and teaches about how the very first season of The Lost Colony came to be back in 1937. You'll learn about how the theatre has been visited by a President, survived World War II, weathered fires, hurricanes and so much more! This walking tour also treats guests to one of the best views in all of the Outer Banks - backstage at The Lost Colony. This is a walking tour that includes walking up and down steep grades at times that lasts for roughly 30 minutes. Those with difficulty walking may find the tour strenuous. Our tour guides will accomodate guests in wheelchairs.
