LifeStream Blood Drive at SJC and MVC - $20 Dutch Bros gift card for donating

MSJC is hosting on-campus blood drives with LifeStream, the Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Please consider donating blood to help save a life and replenish the supply of blood for our local hospitals (watch: I donate video) . This will only take a few minutes and will cut down the screening time. Please visit www.LStream.org/ExpressPass to complete on the day of the drive. THE DONATION PROCESS It is safe to donate blood and please be aware that we are following all CDC/FDA guidelines re. Social distancing, masks, etc. to ensure donor and staff safety. Making a blood donation should take less than one hour. LifeStream takes a brief medical history, checks your blood pressure, pulse, temperature and your body's iron level. Only sterile, sealed and completely disposable materials are used and then safely discarded. WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU When donating blood, please be sure to bring a current photo ID, preferably a valid Driver License. If you don't have one of these, another form of ID with your photo on it is necessary. WHAT TO EAT BEFORE DONATING BLOOD Before making a blood donation, you should eat at your regular mealtimes and drink plenty of liquids. You might also increase your consumption of "iron rich" foods a few days before making a blood donation because only donors with good iron levels are able to donate blood. REGISTRATION Sign in with the receptionist and complete a brief health history questionnaire (approx. 15 minutes) . MINI-PHYSICAL Take a "mini-physical" to review your medical history, check your blood pressure, pulse rate, body temperature and iron levels (approx. 15 minutes) . BLOOD DONATION Your blood is drawn by a skilled medical professional using new, sterile and disposable materials (approx. 30 minutes) . COOKIES AND JUICE FOR ALL! Enjoy cookies, drinks and healthy snacks while relaxing in the canteen area. HOW OFTEN CAN YOU DONATE BLOOD? Your body quickly replenishes any blood that you donate.
