Details:
Discover the incredible animals that call wetlands home and meet some of Discovery Center’s favorite animal ambassadors along the way! This engaging program will introduce participants to the diverse wildlife that depends on wetland habitats and the important role these ecosystems play in supporting native species.
The adventure begins with a special animal encounter featuring Bud the Eastern Box Turtle, Kermie the Tree Frog, Lou the Rat Snake, and Tonk the Water Turtle. As we meet each animal up close, we’ll learn about their unique adaptations, behaviors, and how wetlands help provide the food, water, and shelter they need to survive.
After meeting our animal ambassadors, we’ll head outdoors for a guided walk through the wetlands to search for signs of native wildlife in their natural habitat. Along the way, we’ll keep an eye out for evidence of one of the wetland’s most fascinating residents, the beaver (of course! 😊), and discover how its engineering skills help create and maintain healthy wetland ecosystems.
Join us for a hands-on exploration of the amazing animals and habitats that make Murfree Spring such a special place to learn, discover, and connect with nature. 🐢🐸🐍🦫🌿
