Join us for Week 8 of Discovery Center’s USA 250 Summer Programming as we travel to the West Coast and explore the wonders of the Pacific Ocean with Good Night, Little Sea Otter by Janet Halfmann.
In this gentle bedtime story, a young sea otter isn’t quite ready for sleep. As she says goodnight to the seals, sea lions, fish, and other ocean animals around her, readers are introduced to the diverse marine life that thrives along America’s Pacific coastline. Filled with beautiful illustrations and a soothing rhythm, this story celebrates the special bond between parent and child while highlighting the rich ecosystems of the West Coast.
After the story, families can enjoy hands-on activities inspired by sea otters, kelp forests, and the incredible animals that call the Pacific Ocean home. Together, we’ll discover how these unique coastal habitats support a wide variety of wildlife and why protecting them is so important.
