Create Your Own Character: Youth Drawing

Join us this summer for two exciting creative courses for young artists and writers aged 8-12 in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at 111 E. Broadway, Mount Pleasant, MI.

In "Create Your Own Character: Youth Drawing," instructor Jason Correia will guide students through a 4-week skill-building journey, where they will design an original character and develop an accompanying story and world. Participants will focus on drawing fundamentals, exploring expressions, poses, environments, and world-building through engaging activities each week. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 1-2:30 pm, July 8-29.

Complementing this artistic endeavor, "Write a Great Adventure!" led by instructor Tanya Ehrsam offers budding writers a 3-week opportunity to craft their own grand adventures. Students will select from prompts or invent their own story ideas, with one-on-one assistance to ensure success in their writing endeavors. This course will run on Wednesdays from 1-2:30 pm, July 15-29.
