The Pottsville Free Public Library, established in 1911, is a community hub dedicated to providing free access to knowledge, resources, and cultural programs. It offers a diverse collection of books, e-books, DVDs, audiobooks, and digital resources for all ages. Beyond traditional lending, the library provides public computers, Wi-Fi, and a "Library of Things" with games and equipment. It also hosts various programs such as storytimes, teen activities, adult workshops, and STEM-focused children's programs. As a district center, it supports 16 member libraries in Schuylkill and Northumberland Counties, offering interlibrary loan and professional assistance. The library relies on community support, gifts, grants, and public funding to fulfill its mission of educating, entertaining, and enriching the community.
