Come with us to explore the geology and gems of Chaffee County in Colorado's scenic Arkansas River Valley!
We depart from Dinosaur Ridge the morning of Saturday, June 13th (transportation included) and head to Hartsel making interpretive geologic stops along the way. After lunch (included), we go rock-hounding for blue barite outside the Bayou Salado Trading Post.

Next stop is Ruby Mountain (a National Monument) to collect “Apache Tears” obsidian and deep red garnets. We'll examine our finds while lunching at the Simple Eatery in Buena Vista.
A quick exploration of the Heritage Museum in town will be our final stop before heading back to Morrison with an ETA of 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 14.
Trip is limited to 12 adult participants. Cost is $450.00 per person.
