Details:
Join us for an exciting day of nature exploration and conservation at two upcoming events: the **Coyote Creek Visitors Center BioBlitz** and the **Bair Island Volunteer Workday**.
At the **BioBlitz**, hosted by Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful, BioBlitz Club, Green Foothills, and Santa Clara Valley Bird Alliance, participants will engage in a collaborative effort to discover and identify various species of plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms living along Coyote Creek. With experts guiding you, all you need is a smartphone with the iNaturalist app to help document the wildlife in this ecologically rich area. Family-friendly and providing community service hours, this event is perfect for nature enthusiasts of all ages.
In parallel, the **Bair Island Volunteer Workday** offers a hands-on opportunity to assist the Peninsula Open Space Trust and San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory in maintaining the Bair Island Unit of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Volunteers will help with weeding invasive plants and planting native species to enhance the local ecosystem. Tools are provided, and no prior experience is necessary, making it a great learning experience for ages 14 and up, though minors must be accompanied by adults.
Join us in celebrating and preserving our natural habitats while gaining valuable insights into biodiversity! For the BioBlitz, be sure to bring your family, and to volunteer at Bair Island, register in advance.
