Charles Mears State Park - COVE Benefit Beach Walk or Run

The COVE Benefit Beach Walk/Run features a 5K walk/run and a 10K run, both starting and finishing at Charles Mears State Park. All races are officially timed by RunSignUp.com (Runner’s Edge) , with age group awards presented across all events. The 5K course includes a mix of pavement, dirt roads, and approximately half a mile along the beach. Depending on weather conditions, participants may encounter waves from Lake Michigan and should be prepared to get their feet wet. The 10K run follows a similar route, with an extended 2.5-mile stretch along the shoreline—offering a unique and scenic racing experience. Registration is available online at www.runsignup.com Early registration is $30 for all races through July 27, 2026. Late and same-day registration will be $35 after that date. Please note: This is a pet-free event, as sections of the course include areas where animals are not permitted on the beach.
