The Squirrel Cage Bar and Grill, acquired in the 1960s by the notorious Wild Bill Cooper, was once the haunt of one of America’s most wanted men in the 1970s. Infamous for smuggling massive quantities of marijuana from Mexico, Cooper also led a daring 5,000-mile snowmobile expedition from Minnesota to Moscow in 1972. Disappearing over 40 years ago, he is rumored to have fallen victim to a Mexican drug cartel, but locals whisper alternative tales. Interestingly, he once resided in the charming white house just north of the Squirrel Cage.
