Details:
Join us for an exciting week of creativity and discovery at the Watershed Adventures Youth Camp and Drawing Extravaganza, running from August 10 to August 14, 2026, at ZACC in Missoula, MT. Catering to children ages 6-14, these camps offer a unique blend of science and art.
In the Watershed Adventures Youth Camp, participants aged 6-14 will become Backyard Citizen Scientists, exploring local watersheds to collect data on aquatic life. They will engage in hands-on activities, including measuring stream flow and capturing aquatic insects, complemented by nature journaling, creating cyanotype prints, and making dream boats from found materials. Instructors from the Watershed Education Network ensure a nurturing environment that emphasizes mixed-age interactions, where younger children look up to their older peers.
Simultaneously, the Drawing Extravaganza for ages 9-12 focuses on honing artistic skills using charcoal, graphite, and pastels. Young artists will explore both experimental and traditional drawing techniques, fostering their abilities in a collaborative space.
Both camps run daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a capacity of 12 students for Watershed Adventures and 15 for Drawing Extravaganza. With small class sizes and dedicated instructors, we strive to provide a safe and inspiring atmosphere for all participants. Please note that students will need to be comfortable getting wet for the Watershed camp and adhere to specified age requirements for each program.
ZACC’s refund policy allows for refunds with proper notice, and deposit terms apply. Enroll your child for a week of exploration, learning, and creativity!
