Auditions for Come From Away

Audition Dates: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, July 13-14 and 17 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Performance Dates: September 11-13 and 17-20
Roles are available for 6 male and 6 female actors of any ethnicity. All actors portray multiple roles, and many speak in several different languages.
Auditions are open to anyone age 18 and older, and out of high school.
Please come with 30 seconds to 1 minute of a song in the style of the musical Come From Away. Please be prepared to sing acapella or bring a media player to hear your music.
• Audition song suggestions include songs from modern or contemporary musicals, Disney, rock or pop standards, Irish or other folk songs
• A piano or speaker will not be available.
Auditioners will sing in a private audition with the director and musical director before reading short sections from the script. Other members of the creative team may be present during the singing auditions.
After all singing auditions are completed, all auditioners will be brought into the theatre to do cold-readings of several selections from the script. Please anticipate auditions taking between one and two hours.

The director is also looking for an experienced dialect coache and an experienced stage manager.

Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.
