Quiet Riot: A Calm Celebration of Loud Identities Join us for an all-day Pride celebration with an accessible, sensory-friendly twist. Quiet Riot is a unique Pride event centering queer joy, rest, and resistance through calm connection. Designed especially for neurodivergent and sensory-sensitive folks—but open to all—this event reimagines what celebration can look like. Expect silent disco vibes, cozy corners, collaborative art, yummy snacks, and a whole lot of queer magic—with none of the overwhelming noise. Whether you’re coming to ground, create, move, or connect, Quiet Riot offers a space to be fully and loudly yourself, without having to raise your voice. What to Expect Resource Fair: Community resources and information will be available all day. Workshops: Workshops are focused on education, advocacy, relaxation, and crafts. Sign-ups are day-of at the front desk and are first-come first-serve. Descriptions will be available in the daily program and in advance on our website. Workshop titles are in the schedule below. Open Crafts and Lounge Room: There will be a dedicated quiet room as well as an open craft area with supplies, puzzles, and books. Food: Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the café. Water is free. Music: Music will start at 5pm. Expect a soft sound bath and electronic music meditation followed by a silent disco. Sensory Considerations Sound absorption, blocking and masking system in use. Event will have no or soft music. Ear plugs will be available. Lights will be off or set to low. No bright or flashing lights. Photos will be taken without flash. Workshops have limited sign-ups and dedicated areas, including smaller rooms. A sensory room will be available for an additional break if needed. Accessibility Considerations Masks are encouraged but not required and are provided at the front desk. Door paddle and ramp at entry. We have an elevator that goes to the second floor. Gender-neutral accessible restrooms. Service animals are welcome. Interpretation Services: On-demand ASL interpretation services available for the café. Please let us know ASAP if you would like an ASL interpreter for any part of the event by emailing contact@queermunitymn. com. Family Needs: Parenting and prayer room, including baby changing station and chair for nursing. Seating: Variety of couches with arms and chairs with and without arms.
