In the face of oppression, music is a powerful form of resistance. HONK brings together Twin Cities musicians of all skill levels to jam, collaborate, and combat fascist agendas. If that resonates - and you're ready to learn some protest tunes - grab your instrument and meet us at the jam session! Bring your instrument(s) and a music stand if you have one. We do have some extra stands and instruments if needed. Singers are welcome too! Sheet music is provided in chord sheet and lyrics format for some songs and with a melody and chords for other songs. Jam sessions start with group introductions, then playing songs from a selected list. There will be time dedicated for people to share songs they bring as well. The jam session will close with a short reflection and clean up. This event is free to attend — donations are always appreciated from those who are able to contribute.
