Join us for an evening of cocktails and classic literature as we dive into one history's most popular and most divisive novels: George Orwell's 1984. We’ll kick things off with a featured speaker sharing expert insight into 1984, Orwell, and the history of the novel's reception, then open the floor for lively, book-club–style conversation. Expect literary deep dives, a little gossip, and plenty of opinions about one of literature’s favorite dystopian tales. Don't worry though, she's also a huge fan of fantasy, romance, and of course, romantasy, and is equally excited to swap literary gossip, swoon over a morally gray lead, or break down Austen's use of free indirect discourse.
