The Farnsworth Art Museum, located in Rockland, Maine, is dedicated to celebrating Maine's role in American art. It houses a nationally recognized collection of over 15,000 works, specializing in American art with a significant focus on artists connected to Maine. The museum features extensive collections of works by the Wyeth family (N.C., Andrew, and Jamie Wyeth) and is home to the second-largest public collection of works by 20th-century sculptor Louise Nevelson. In addition to its galleries, the museum complex includes the Farnsworth Homestead and the historic Olson House, which inspired Andrew Wyeth's famous painting "Christina's World." The Farnsworth also offers inventive exhibitions, educational programming, and scholarly resources to foster a deep appreciation for American art and Maine's artistic contributions.
