Is your bookshelf full but your windowsill looking a little bare? Or maybe your pothos has staged a hostile takeover of your living room? It’s time to spread the green at our 2026 Adult Summer Reading Program: Plant a Seed & Unearth a Story plant swap!
Whether you’re a "pro-plant-inator" or a seasoned "plant parent," come join us for an afternoon of swapping stories, seeds, and sprouts.
How It Works:
Bring One, Take One: Bring a healthy, pest-free potted plant, a rooted cutting, or a packet of seeds to trade.
The "Unearth" Station: Not sure what you have? We’ll have identification app on hand to help you label your new green friends. (I have one)
The Swap Shop: Browse the "adoption" table and find a new leafy companion to take home. No plant to swap? No worries—we usually have plenty of "orphans" looking for a good home!
What to Bring:
Cuttings in jars or damp paper towels.
Potted plants (small to medium preferred).
Any extra gardening tools or decorative pots you no longer use.
Come dig into a new hobby and leave with a fresh chapter for your home garden. We can’t wait to see what you’re growing!
