Science of Writing PD 2 Day Workshop

Join us for the Science of Writing 2-Day Professional Development Workshop for teachers! This immersive learning experience provides educators with insights into the theoretical models that inform contemporary writing instruction. Participants will explore foundational writing concepts through the gradual release model and intentional scaffolding, enabling them to design explicit and systematic instruction that meets the needs of all learners. Engaging in structured writing simulations, teachers will understand the cognitive challenges faced by students and develop practical tools such as sentence-level scaffolds, self-regulation strategies, and goal-setting practices. The workshop aims to equip educators with actionable strategies for creating rigorous and effective writing instruction, regardless of whether they are implementing a core program or establishing new systems. Lunch will be provided on both days, along with a guided hike (weather permitting) and entrance to the Castle.
