The Rogue Valley Genealogical Society (RVGS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring interest in genealogy, educating the public, and maintaining a comprehensive library with a strong online presence. Founded in 1966, RVGS operates the largest genealogical library in Southern Oregon, housing over 25,000 volumes and resources rich in Jackson County and Oregon history. The society offers a variety of services and activities, including genealogy classes for all levels, historical and genealogical programs, an electronic newsletter (eNews), and a Pioneer and Early Settler Certificate program. RVGS also actively engages in volunteer efforts such as indexing records and expanding the library's collection. The library provides access to numerous subscription genealogy websites and is a FamilySearch Affiliate Library. Membership offers free access to all library resources, while students can use the library at no charge, and non-members can access it for a daily fee.
