Continue the Season’s Eatings workshop series with a hands-on exploration of pickling and food preservation in the 17th century. Participants will learn about seasonal cooking, kitchen gardens, fermentation, and preservation methods used in England and the Chesapeake before refrigeration. Using period-inspired recipes and techniques, guests will prepare and sample several varieties of pickled foods while exploring the flavors and foodways of early Maryland.

Ages 14 and up.
$30 per person / $25 members.
$5 discount available for participants registering for multiple workshops.
This program involves walking on uneven, unpaved terrain and hands-on work with food materials. Common allergens, including dairy and gluten, may be present. Program held rain or shine.
