TRY IT! Beginner's Mushroom Walk at Barking Slopes

Join ALT staff and WPMC Identifiers, Julie Travaglini and Sara Klingensmith, for a beginner’s mushroom walk at Barking Slopes, as part of the Outdoor Inclusion Coalition’s TRY IT! Series. This is not a traditional guided hike. After an introduction, participants will search for our fungal friends to collect for a beginner friendly identification table at the end of the program.
Hike runs rain or shine. NO WALK-INS will be permitted. We will not be foraging on this hike or discussing edibility. Foraging for mushrooms can be risky and it is never safe to eat a wild mushroom unless an expert confirms the identity.
