Join us for an Ikebana Workshop with Lynn Bledsoe on a Saturday afternoon, where you'll gather in community to explore the Japanese art of floral arrangement. Lynn, a fourth-year ikebana student and healer with extensive experience, will guide you in creating arrangements that emphasize harmony, balance, and minimalism. This hands-on workshop will cover the specific rules and principles of ikebana, focusing on line, color, space, and the interplay of natural elements, while highlighting asymmetry and negative space to evoke tranquility and a connection with nature. Participants can expect an educational presentation, a hands-on demonstration, individual support in creating arrangements, and light snacks and beverages. The workshop is priced at $65 per person, and pre-registration is required. Lynn, who resides in Sugar Hollow, Fairview, NC, has a background in hospice chaplaincy and is passionate about ikenana, having studied under Sensei Judi Efland. Enjoy a creative afternoon enhancing your floral arranging skills with a seasoned instructor. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions when registering.
