Details:
Join us for Pioneer Day 2026, the Mountain Gateway Museum's first festival since Hurricane Helene, happening on Friday, July 3, from 10 AM to 4 PM at 24 Water Street in Old Fort. Celebrate the 39th Annual Pioneer Day with traditional Appalachian crafts, live music, food trucks, farm demonstrations, and children's games. Visitors can stop by the Mountain Gateway Museum or the Destination McDowell Visitor Center to receive a free commemorative button or sticker (while supplies last). This year’s event coincides with the state’s “America 250 NC” celebration over the July 4th weekend, and as always, admission is free! For more details, contact RoAnn Bishop at roann.bishop@dncr.nc.gov or call (828) 619-5100.
