Eyeglass/Trinket Dish (Open to all/Ages 18+)

Join us for a fun and creative pottery class where you'll craft a custom eyeglass holder perfect for a bedside table, desk, or workspace. Your finished eyeglass holder will be glazed to be food safe, giving you the option to use it in a variety of ways. If time allows, you'll also create a small round ring dish.
577 Pottery Coordinator Alison Buchanan will guide the class step by step through basic slab construction techniques, with the option to incorporate pinch pot or coil elements into your design. Whether creating a sculptural holder, a simple catchall dish, or something in between, enjoy bringing your vision to life in clay.
Once your holder is built, add color using underglazes (liquid colored clay) or choose from a selection of studio glazes to complete your piece.
After class, our staff will complete the firing and glazing process. Each piece will be bisque-fired, glazed (if needed), and fired again. We'll email you in approximately 14–18 days when your finished artwork is ready for pickup.
This class is open to all adults ages 18 and older. No prior clay experience is needed—just bring your creativity and enjoy an evening of making.

Alison is a BGSU graduate with a K-12 art education degree and Bachelor of Fine Arts. As a creative ceramicist and member of the Education and Programs team, Alison works as a pottery class instructor and assists in the responsibilities of the operation, development, care, and maintenance of the pottery studio.
