Details:
In this workshop, we explore the rich and varied rhythmic legacy of Brazil and the Caribbean through hands-on participation, call & response, and collective jamming. We look at clave and how it informs interlocking parts, which gives this music its powerful groove. Participants will leave with a deeper appreciation and understanding of what clave is and how to use it in their own music.
3-3:45 p.m. Friday, June 5, in the Reynolds Room, First Floor, East Wing. All ages and abilities are welcome. Included with admission.
This is an in-person workshop and will not be recorded.
To secure a space, RSVP via email at events@spenardjazzfest.org.
