This year’s featured chef is Cory Giaquinta, the talent behind Raven Steakhouse & Lounge in downtown Maryville. A Cityview Magazine “Top Chef” honoree, Cory is known for combining his Italian and Sicilian roots with modern culinary techniques and elevated presentation, helping establish Maryville as a destination for exceptional fine dining. The Chef’s Table offers guests a unique opportunity to enjoy an enhanced culinary experience inspired by one of the area’s top chefs. With the Chef’s Table, you’ll enjoy covered seating, table service and a demonstration and tasting with Chef Cory.
New for 2026: The Inaugural Momma Mel Casserole Cookoff!
Taste of Blount is proud to introduce the Momma Mel Award Competition, honoring the legacy of Blount County native and YouTube culinary star Melonie “Momma Mel” Effler and celebrating the home cooks who bring family, friends, and communities together around the table. Local non-professional home chefs will compete with their favorite sweet or savory casseroles for the inaugural title, adding a heartwarming new tradition to this beloved event and showcasing the comfort-food recipes that make Blount County special. The competition celebrates homemade cooking and community while paying tribute to Momma Mel’s lasting legacy.
