The Albertville Public Library, established in 1964, is the largest library in Marshall County, offering a wide range of books, CDs, and DVDs. It provides free membership to residents of Albertville and Marshall County within a 20-mile radius, with an annual fee for non-residents. The library features a Rare Books Room with first editions and works by Alabama authors, as well as an Archive Room containing local newspapers. Patrons have access to public computers with free Wi-Fi, printing, and copying services. In May 2025, the library suffered significant damage from a fire but is currently operating from a temporary location at 301 W. Main Street, Albertville, AL 35950, with plans to rebuild. The library also offers access to online resources like Ancestry and Chilton Library. Additionally, a special event and meeting room is available for rent, with reduced rates for non-profits. The library is actively seeking community input for its future development as it rebuilds.
