Weather The Storm - A Mixed Media Courtyard Installation by Lara Parks

This summer, Dare Arts presents a series of intriguing art events in downtown Manteo, coinciding with the First Friday festivities on July 3.

"W​eather The Storm," a mixed media installation by artist Lara E. Parks, will be on display in The Courtyard from July 3 through fall. This immersive installation creates an atmospheric experience that interacts with viewers through light, shadow, sound, and natural movement, inviting them to engage with the shifting emotions of daily life. Visitors can meet Lara at the opening reception on July 3.

Simultaneously, "The Perception Project," a solo exhibition by Emily Holmes, runs from July 4 to August 1 in the Vault Gallery. This interactive showcase features colorful mixed-media artworks that explore perception through movement and layering. Visitors are encouraged to engage with the optical effects and tactile elements, with an opportunity to meet Emily during the opening reception on July 3 from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Additionally, "Southern is Feeling, A Visual Telling of Rural NC" will be on view in the Courtroom Gallery from July 4 to August 29. This exhibition showcases the work of various photographers who document rural communities in North Carolina, capturing the emotional ties to land and place. The opening reception on July 3 from 6 PM to 8 PM will allow attendees to engage with the photographers and their compelling narratives.
