The Manteca Historical Museum, founded by the Manteca Historical Society in 1990, is a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of Manteca and the surrounding South County region. Housed in a historic church building, the museum serves as a learning center for locals and visitors of all ages, featuring exhibits, artifacts, documents, and thousands of photographs that showcase the area's rich heritage. The museum also includes a gift shop with collectibles and memorabilia, with proceeds benefiting museum operations. Volunteers play a key role as docents and researchers, bringing the past to life through engaging tours and stories.
