Community Poetry Workshop:
SPIRALS by Patrycja Humienik
$12 Registration
6:30-8pm
Spirals, an enduring symbol across cultures for centuries, are a shape repeatedly encountered in the natural world. Spirals upend linear notions of time, orienting us toward the ongoingness of history—how past, present, and future are forever entwined. In this Community Workshop, we'll explore the spiral in relationship to syntax and the poetic image, and use ~spirals~ as our lens/generative spark.
Patrycja Humienik is the author of We Contain Landscapes (Tin House, 2025), selected as a New York Public Library Best Book of 2025. An editor and teaching artist, Patrycja has developed writing and movement workshops for Brooklyn Poets, Northwest Film Forum, Arts+Literature Laboratory, Poets House, Henry Art Gallery, and in prisons. Her work can be found in The New Yorker, Poetry Daily, Poetry Society of America, The Slowdown, and elsewhere.
