Details:
Every fall the men of New Hope set aside a weekend to get up into the mountains together. This year we're back at Calvin Crest in the Sierra for Men's Camp.
Something good happens when a group of men steps away from the usual pace for a couple of days. The phone gets quieter, the conversations get longer, and there's room to think, to laugh, and to pay attention to God again. Calvin Crest sits on 340 acres of forest near Oakhurst, about an hour north of Fresno and a short drive from Yosemite, so the setting alone is worth the trip.
The weekend includes two nights of lodging, five meals, and four worship sessions led by this year's speaker, Pastor Ian Hodge. One afternoon is left wide open for zip lining, hatchet throwing, and Calvin Crest's annual Irish Road Bowling competition, with plenty of quiet trails for anyone who'd rather rest.
Men's Camp runs November 6 to 8. It's $275 to $325 per person depending on which lodging you choose, and a $75 deposit reserves your place. Space is limited, and registration stays open through October 23.
Bring a friend, invite your son, or simply come and get to know the men of New Hope a little better. Register at newhopechurch.net/events, and reach the church office at (559) 297-7362 with any questions.
