The venue was opened in 1916 as The Capitol Theatre. The theatre featured leather furnishings and a screen made of gold fiber. Admission was fifteen cents. The Capitol Theatre operated until 1976 after which time it fell into disrepair. Renovated and reopened in 2006, it has become an entertainment cornerstone and in fact, the premier concert venue in central Georgia. The Capitol Theatre is conveniently located in beautiful downtown Macon, GA. Ample on-street parking is available within comfortable walking distance. Public parking garages are also available nearby. General Admission is 600+. Seating capacity varies on room configuration. Outside catering is available.
