Details:
Join us for an engaging one-week day camp at the Johnston-Felton-Hay House, designed for rising 4th through 6th graders who have a curiosity about history and preservation! Campers will explore Macon’s architectural heritage, learning about different styles and the significance of preserving historical structures.
Highlights of the camp include:
-A van tour with Visit Macon, tracing the area’s history from its earliest settlements at the site of what is now Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park.
-Hands-on learning about architectural and painting finishes.
-A creative experience at Historic Macon’s Second Street workshop, where campers will discover and design their own projects.
By the end of the week, participants will have a deeper appreciation for how the past shapes our present and why it’s essential to preserve it for future generations.
