Macon Music Revue

The Macon Music Revue at Grant's Lounge is a vibrant "preservation band" dedicated to celebrating the rich musical heritage of Macon, Georgia. This five-piece group draws inspiration from local legends such as Little Richard and Otis Redding while also showcasing the influential works produced by Capricorn Records, which yielded numerous platinum and gold albums in the 1970s featuring artists like The Allman Brothers Band and Charlie Daniels Band. In addition to honoring these icons, the Revue offers their interpretations of songs by James Brown, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and R.E.M., tracing connections to the city's roots. With a repertoire exceeding 140 songs, the band showcases their deep appreciation for Macon's legacy, blending gospel-infused vocals from Charles Davis, impressive guitar work from Dustin McCook, and the classically trained piano and organ melodies from Ethan Hamlin, whose style is influenced by local legends. Their tight rhythm section, featuring drummer Caleb Melvin and bassist Evan Bentzel, encapsulates the laid-back groove synonymous with the Macon music scene.
