Pattern: Alpine Tracks by Quiltworx Skill Level: Experienced Beginner Instructor: Susan Sears Special Notions: 12” Add-A-Quarter ruler Microtex 70/10 or 75/11 needles Flower Pins (I use the blue Clover flower head pins & yellow flower head pins) UHU Glue stick or similar washable glue stick (Elmer’s) SewLine or similar brand fabric glue pen Purple Thang or Stiletto Scotch Tape Strip of template plastic with a straight edge at least 3” x 12” long Ziploc bags, one gallon size or larger (to organize groups, I use the 2-1/2 gal size) Jumbo Paper Clips or Jumbo Wonder Clips (to help with organization) Sewing Supplies: Sewing Machine and accessories including your book ¼” presser foot for sewing accurate ¼” seams (a guided foot is not recommended) 50 wt neutral thread to blend with fabrics, such as Aurifil Scissors, pins, seam ripper, 60 mm rotary cutter & cutting mat (mat not required if quilt shop provides them) Ruler, 6 x 24 or similar size Alpine Tracks is Quiltworx entry into borders for panels. This is an adjustable border pattern that will fit the most common panel sizes – 24” x 44”, 30” x 44” & 36” x 44”. It is also a good introduction to foundation paper piecing and the processes used by Quiltworx. Your finished quilt size will be determined by the size of your panel. This will be a 2-1/2 day class. The first day will cover panels and their sizes; supplies and cutting papers and Quiltster for those that would like help coloring their quilts. The next 2 classes will cover foundation paper piecing and assembly. I will show you how to use Quiltster to color your panel quilt. Quiltster is a color design subscription-based software (it is accessed via the internet) for coloring Quiltworx patterns. It is available from www.Quiltster.com for a nominal fee. If you decide not to subscribe to Quiltster, I can help you color your quilt using my Quiltster account.
