Details:
Catamount Arts will wrap up July with two Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury concerts in one weekend, starting with Kyshona, on July 31st, at Discover St. Johnsbury’s Final Friday block party on Railroad Street. Friday’s concert on Railroad Street will be followed by a second concert, on Sunday, when the Levitt AMP series welcomes singer/songwriter Noah Richardson to Dog Mountain.
Blending roots, rock, R&B, and folk, Kyshona dedicates her powerful voice and music to those who feel silenced, forgotten, or alone. Her debut album, “Listen,” anchored by the title anthem, was a bluesy balm for listeners in 2020, while her latest release, “Legacy,” which includes a gospel-infused stunner penned by her grandfather, explores themes of ancestry, generational trauma, and healing.
A former music therapist, Kyshona is well-versed in the power of song to shape narratives, validate experiences, and illustrate commonalities. Her prolific songwriting and powerhouse voice have become mainstays of Nashville’s music scene, where she is constantly collaborating among and celebrating community, balancing her music career with her activism and therapy work serving veterans, youth at risk, and people who are incarcerated.
Rooted in empathy and driven by a deep understanding of the human experience, Kyshona’s music resonates with authenticity and soul. Her performances blend heartfelt storytelling with dynamic melodies, creating a sound both timeless and relevant. With a voice that carries both strength and vulnerability, she invites listeners into a shared space of reflection, resilience, and hope.
On Friday, July 31st, Final Friday festivities begin at 5pm, when downtown Railroad Street closes to vehicular traffic to make way for free, family-friendly, all-ages fun. At 7pm, Kyshona will take the stage, wrapping up the Railroad Street block party with rousing live music and dancing.
Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury will return to Dog Mountain on Sunday, August 2nd, with a free concert by Noah Richardson, at 5pm.
The Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Live Music Series, presented by Catamount Arts with support from the Levitt Family Foundation, began in 2017 as a free, family-friendly (and dog-friendly) weekly concert series at Dog Mountain, St. Johnsbury’s beloved 150-acre dog park known for its hiking trails, art gallery, dog chapel, and community events. Catamount Arts has since partnered with Discover St. Johnsbury to include additional Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury concerts at Final Fridays events in June, July, and August.
