Teen Pottery Camp 3

Join us for the **Teen Pottery Camp**, a creative and hands-on experience designed for pre-teens and teens aged 11-15. This week-long camp, running from July 20 to July 24, will immerse students in the fundamentals of pottery at the May Carter Pottery Studio. Under the guidance of instructor Ben Burris, a dedicated ceramic artist pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts, participants will learn essential wheel throwing techniques from Monday to Wednesday, covering everything from centering to shaping various pieces on the pottery wheel. On Thursday, students will trim, finish their work, and add decorative details, while Friday will be a fun-filled painting and decorating session, where they’ll personalize their creations using colored slip. By the end of the week, each participant can expect to craft 8-12 unique pieces, all of which will be glazed, kiln-fired, and ready for pick-up in two weeks. No prior experience is needed—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! Scholarships are available. The cost is $150, and registration closes on July 18.
