Jason Wilson, Historian for the Pennsylvania Capitol Preservation Committee will present a program on the history and preservation of Pennsylvania’s collection of nearly 400 Civil War battle flags. Pennsylvania’s collection is one of the largest state collections in the nation and was used throughout many of the major campaigns and battles of the Civil War. As such, many of the flags have bullet holes and bloodstains from the horrific combat which they endured. The collection represents approximately 340,000 Pennsylvanians who answered the call during the war. More Medals of Honor were awarded for actions involving flags during the Civil War than for any other reason. Free | Open to the Public
