100 day Challenge
July 4th-October 12th
This journey begins with gratitude—for the trails beneath our feet, the landscapes that sustain us, and the stories held within the land. Imagine Well Being invites you into an experience that honors not only where we’ve come from, but our relationship with the places that continue to support and shape us. Through mindful movement and reflection, we deepen our connection to nature, community, and the inner wisdom that guides our well-being.
To guide your journey, the challenge invites you to explore three distinct types of landscapes:
Historic Sites: Where we listen to the stories of the land. (Monocacy National Battlefield, Gathland State Park, Washington Monument State Park, and Antietam National Battlefield)
National Scenic Trails: Where the path guides us back to ourselves. (Appalachian Trail & The Potomac Heritage Trail, which includes the C&O Canal Towpath and the W & O D Trail)
National Parks: Where awe expands our perspective. (Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Catoctin Mountain Park, and C&O Canal National Historical Park)
How It Works
Complete the challenge at your own pace between July 4th and October 12th, choosing when, where, and how you explore. Along the way, you're invited to enrich your experience by joining our hosted community events—including mindful hikes, bike rides, forest bathing, sound baths, and mindful movement.
Sign Up: Register to secure your spot! Invite friends, family, or coworkers to join you, create a team name that reflects your spirit, and begin your journey together.
Receive Your Guides: The week before the challenge begins, you'll gain access to a participant page featuring downloadable mindful hiking guides for each landscape type, along with a curated list of recommended sites throughout the DMV region. You'll also receive inspiring emails with prompts and updates throughout the challenge.
Explore and Engage: Visit historic sites, national scenic trails, and national parks on your own schedule. Use your mindfulness guides to engage in sensory invitations and creative reflections that deepen your awareness and connection to the land.
Log, Share, Celebrate: After completing each landscape type, log your progress online. If you enjoy celebrating your journey by sharing photos and reflections on social media, please tag @RootsandRiverYoga and @ImagineWellBeing. Complete all three landscape experiences by October 12th, and you'll officially become a Mindful Hiking Challenge finisher!
