Reflect and Reconnect Reunion

You are cordially invited to join us in September for a time of reflection (revisiting memories made on and around the campground} and reconnecting with folks you may not have seen in years. So many memories made. So many lives changed for the better. So many friendships that have stood the test of time. And most importantly so many days and nights filled with new revelation sent from Holy Spirit. So many hungry souls fed and filled, changed and healed and sent to a world who needs so much of the same. Who could have known all the plans Father had for these young campers? Some met their spouses at these camps. Some were called into the ministry. Some found Jesus for the first time, and others may have had to find him a few times. But we all came together and God showed up in some amazing ways. We are so grateful for staff members who were willing to lay everything else aside in their lives to give of themselves for a week and often even longer. Directors that were willing to spend months in preparation and prayer for a week of transformation for young people that needed a changed life. We are so thankful for leaders who were willing to be Jesus with skin on for those who were hurting and needing Jesus so desperately. And we are grateful for those campers who came and listened and allowed Holy Spirit to do a work in them. Yes, we are grateful for you all and we celebrate you. These were precious times and we need to cherish them.
Please make plans to join us Thursday, September 17, and Friday, September 18, to celebrate what God has done. We will hear some amazing testimonies from people whose lives have been so greatly impacted by this ministry. We will laugh as we remember the fun times we had, the crazy and hilarious skits, the cook’s parades, the roasts, the very intense basketball games and the very hot softball and volleyball competitions. And who can forget the snack house and those famous snack cards? Does anyone still have one of those? Please bring it if you do! There may be a special prize for those who still have them.
There will be worship. Singing and preaching and encouraging each other and ourselves. Then we will wait for Holy Spirit to come and do what only He can! Our hearts will be touched and our lives will be changed. We will revisit those days much earlier in our lives when God showed up and did things we never thought possible. He’s still with us, and still active. You don’t want to miss this and we don’t want you to miss it.
Some have had questions about the dates since they are not the normal Friday and Saturday dates. We are trying to accommodate grandparents who faithfully support their grandchildren in sports events on Friday and Saturday nights at that time of year. Most of us are retired now and coming one day earlier hasn’t presented a problem for most. This event is sponsored by JOY Ministries, our senior congregation, to which many of us belong . Anyone who desires to come, however, is welcome and encouraged to join us but please understand this retreat is designed for adults. We are attempting to build up the attendance of the senior retreats and this is a wonderful opportunity to do it.

This event invitation will be formatted for group comments and discussion as well. We are looking forward to seeing you then. The response has been amazing so far and please help us get the word out to your friends and family that may be interested. Registration forms will be available through the church website but please go ahead and click on the “going” button on this invite to give us an idea of how many to prepare for.
Tentative Schedule:
Thursday afternoon 1pm – 4pm Registration and reception in dining hall (please bring any memorabilia you may have) we will have lots of food and fellowship
Thursday evening 5:30 pm Supper in the dining hall
Thursday evening 7:00 Gathering in the chapel for reflection and worship
Friday morning 8-9 Breakfast in dining hall (drop in during the hour)
Friday morning 9:30 Chapel time – Morning devotion and much more!
Friday afternoon 1:00 Dismissal – lunch on your own
