Details:
Join us for an engaging outdoor event featuring storyteller Jean Bolley as she shares captivating American folktales, focusing on legendary figures like Davey Crockett, Mike Fink, and Pecos Bill. This event, suitable for students entering grades 1-6, allows for drop-in attendance without prior registration. Alongside the storytelling, the Summer Lunch Bunch will serve a complimentary picnic meal at 11:45 a.m., available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, this event takes place at the Howell Carnegie Library and is partially funded by a gift from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, in honor of libraries' important role in democracy as part of the "Carnegie Libraries 250" initiative.
Please bring a tarp or blanket to sit on the grass, as well as sunscreen, hats, and bug spray. In case of inclement weather, the event will be relocated to the library with limited seating. Attendees are encouraged to stay home if feeling unwell. Note that library staff may photograph or videotape the event for promotional purposes.
